As the responsible entity for the Bussaco National Forest, the Buçaco Forest Foundation has being set off a managing works series aimed to the recovery of the arboretum, cultural heritage, but also areas of indigenous forest, which here have unique characteristics and allow the existence of flora, fauna and habitats of high conservation concern, though less known to the general public.

Is in this way that arises the application to the LIFE + program (NAT/P/075), with the BRIGHT Project (Bussaco´s Recovery from Invasions Generating Habitat Threats), aiming to put into practice, test, evaluate and disseminate a set of works on habitat management and nature conservation.
